I hope you enjoyed your mountain biking last year and that our events have been as enjoyable to compete in as they have been to organise. We have had over 150 riders at most of our league events and about 40 riders at our treasure hunts. The planners have made an excellent job of setting out the courses and the team of helpers on the day has made the events possible. They are all volunteers so if you want to get more involved this year please let me know.
I have attached the fixture list for this season below. Thanks to all of the planners who have volunteered to set the courses. It is the same format as last year but with a few changes.
All of the maps will be produced by Jens Strain on his computer so they will be much clearer and up-to-date.
Ebor and Clok will be organising the events but the name has changed to North Yorkshire MBO League. Most events will be the standard 2-hour Score format but there will be some variations in the smaller forests with second maps and some fixed route sections. The July event will be a PentaMBO with 5 events in 30 hours. There will be the usual 2-hour league events on Saturday and Sunday afternoons plus Cyclo-Cross, MTBO and Night MBO. You will be able to do any combination of these events and there will be a campsite for the weekend.
Reluctantly we will have to increase the prices this year. The 2-hour events will increase to £7 for Seniors and £3.50 for Juniors/Students with the same reductions for TCA, Ebor and Clok members and those of you with your own SI card. We are using SI at all of our events next year (as are most other TCA clubs) so you may want to buy your own from Martin Stone martin@sportident.co.uk If you want to join Ebor it will cost £9.00 for seniors this year but is free to juniors. This entitles you to reductions at Ebor and Clok MBO events, the bi-monthly Eboracle Newsletter and entry to all Yorkshire and Humberside Orienteering Leagues. Forms are available at all Ebor MBO events.
Whatever your reason I hope to see you at one of our events this year.
