Another excellent event in Silton and Boltby Forests and this time planned by Conrad Ellison and Jill Furphy. Horses, hounds and guns all added to the event and no incidents!! Another excellent map and plenty of route choice with some people trying to go too far and paying the penalty. Control 2 was not quite in the right place so I hope it didn’t spoil your ride. Sorry.
It was great to compete in this area without the snow that we had to wade through in March. I didn’t choose a very good route but the ride back along the Cleveland Way with the wind at my back and the sun setting over Wensleydale to the west as I headed back to Silton seemed a perfect way to end the season.

Next season’s proposed fixture list has to be ratified by the TCA before it can appear in the calendar. No great changes because everyone seems to enjoy the format – and the maps will still be produced by Jens. We have got planners for every event so thanks again to them for volunteering.
If you can’t wait until March to compete then you are welcome to our Saturday morning MBO events. These are the same format as the league events with 30 controls, a pre-marked map and a 2 hour limit but don’t forget a pen as you have to write down the answers and, as they all start and finish at pubs, enough money for a pint and a meal afterwards!!
