24 riders enjoyed the course planned by Andrew Windrum and Wayne Nicholson in the Howardian Hills on a lovely summer's evening last Wednesday. The views were superb and the tracks dry but not too overgrown with plenty of route choice. Nick Harmer used his local knowledge of the area to good effect in the A class and Dave Lloyd used his experience in choosing to visit all of the 30 point controls and accept the penalties to score the third highest score on the evening and win the veteran category.
The series has been very pleasant with a relaxed competitive formula which has been enjoyed by everyone. Despite slightly lower than expected numbers it will happen again next year - and the same format will be used for the winter lanequests starting on Saturday mornings in November. However we have still got the rest of this season's league events which continue with Cropton Forest next Saturday 22nd July. If the weather stays as dry for the next week then the tracks will be superb.
Hope to see you there
Steve
