Thanks to Dave Godwin who planned this event, Jens Strain for another excellent map and the usual band of helpers who made the event run smoothly.

There were a couple of controls that caused problems so if you couldn’t find #9 or #16 please let me know and I will adjust your score.

I thought it was another excellent course with a big choice as to how long to spend in the forest – I tried to do too much. Most riders headed out of Silton to make sure that they got around Boltby before heading back. It is another beautiful area but perhaps the time limit should have been extended to 2½ hours so that we could have spent more time in the forests and visited more controls!! Most riders got onto the Cleveland Way and this section must be one of the most scenic bridleways in the country. I hope you had enough time and energy to appreciate it.

Nick Harmer took advantage of Andrew Windrum’s absence (at a wedding, what an excuse!!) to score well and second place overall was taken by John Galway. These 2 riders were well ahead of the rest of the field. Jesse Roberts used local knowledge, youth and fitness to record the highest women’s score. Mike Naylor just pipped Andy and Richard to regain the lead in the Veteran class.
The closest competition was in the Mixed classes with only 23 points separating 5 teams but Jon & Amanda took the honours this month ahead of Roz & Dave.
