Cawthorne & Keldy, Pickering, N Yorks

Location | Badge Events | Relays | Wayfarers | Entries | Trail-O | Bike-O

Saturday and Sunday will have Badge courses together with long and short Wayfarers and Trail-O courses. There will also be Bike-O on Sunday.
On Monday there will be the Relays.

LOCATION AND TERRAIN:

The event centre, parking and camp site are at Hen Flatts Farm about 6km NW of PICKERING (Grid Ref SE 769895). The best approach is to turn off the A170 between Kirkbymoorside and Pickering at Wrelton taking the road through the villlage to Cropton. After the pub, the New Inn, follow the right fork at the green signposted (slightly obscured) Sutherland and Newton. Please take care driving through the villages as there will be other holiday and local traffic in the area.

The turn into the farm is off a long straight fast road, please follow the directions of the marshals at the entrance. NOTE The site will open at 16.00 on Friday, please do not arrive earlier or you may hinder preparation and cause blockage on the road as there is no alternative parking. .

The terrain is a mixture of runnable natural woodland and some working coniferous forest.

There will be a car parking charge of £3:00 for the weekend.

BADGE EVENT STARTS:

SATURDAY 12:00 - 15:00
SUNDAY 10:00 - 13:00

All competitors, except helpers and those with split times, will be given their start time and it will not be necessary to 'punch' at the start.
This also means that start times cannot be changed at the start. If you wish to change your entry in any way you must go through the EoD system. As there are no control cards you will receive a start slip for each day containing all your details, this must be handed in at the start, you will not be allowed to start without it.
The starts for the badge/ wayfarers events are both about 1.2k, downhill, from the entrance gate at a different location for each day.
At the starts please follow the instructions and ensure you are in the correct lane.

FINISH:

The finish for both days is the same, some 1.5km away with 50m climb. The finish will be manned to ensure everyone remembers to 'punch', however it does not confirm you are back, this only occurs when you download the E-card which will be back at the event centre. Regardless of reasons you must download. Not downloading is like not reporting to the finish in the traditional system and will be treated as seriously.
