Sponsors: Eborienteers would like to thank our sponsors Yorkshire Water and Morrisons Utility Services for their support. Yorkshire Water provides over 1.7m households and 140,000 businesses with water and sewerage services, supplying around 1.24 billion litres of drinking water each day. They are heavily involved in charity and sponsorship in the Yorkshire region. Morrison Utility Services support the water distribution services on behalf of Yorkshire Water, including pipelines, tankers and construction works.
Directions
/Parking:
GR 515805. From the A1 North or South take the A168 towards Thirsk. Turn off the A168 at Thirsk onto the A170 towards Scarborough. 2 kilometres east of Thirsk turn right onto the unclassified road towards Kilburn and Bagby. The route will be signed from this point using 'WR2002' signs. Turn left in Kilburn, and then right at the next junction. Do not approach from the North (Sutton Bank) or the East (Byland/Oldstead). When you enter the field, please follow the instructions of the Marshalls and park neatly. Your parking pass must be displayed in your windscreen at all times. If you have not ordered a pass, car parking is £1 per car per day. The Event Centre and Camping are adjacent to the car park.
Facilities: Portaloos, Yorkshire water, and a skip will be provided.
Ultrasport, CompassPoint, Wilfs, CompassSport and Fat Pigs will be in attendance. A milkman will visit the site every day .

Campsite: The campsite is in a gently sloping grass field, and will be available from 4pm Friday to 4pm Monday. The entrance will be closed to vehicles every evening from 10pm to 8am. Please have your campsite pass ready for checking when you arrive and clearly display it on your tent/caravan/dormobile. There are separate areas for caravans & dormobiles, 'youth camp', and general camping. Please follow the instructions of the Marshalls. All campers will receive a bottle of Yorkshire Water, courtesy of our sponsors.
There is limited space for cars in the camping field. Please park/camp in as small an area as possible. If you don't need your car next to you, please leave it in the car parking field. There will be a one-way system for cars. If we run out of space, you may be asked to move your car. Please co-operate with the Marshalls.

Note that Eborienteers are not responsible for maintaining peace and quiet - we expect people to be considerate to others. Unreasonable behaviour will result in disqualification from the event.
The camping field is separated from the car parking by a deep ditch, which may only be crossed at the marked point. Please take care at all times.

  Competition Details
Bike-O: See here.
Out of
Bounds:
All woods and the path above the White Horse are out of bounds except during the competition. Farmland and the gliding club are out-of-bounds at all times. Maps showing these areas will be displayed in the Assembly area and at pre-start. They will also be marked on the competition maps. Anyone entering Out of Bounds will be disqualified.
Terrain:
(all days)
Mixed coniferous and deciduous forest, with varying runnability and an extensive network of paths and rides. Many parts of the area are rocky, with numerous crags and old quarry workings. The area is hilly - course lengths have been reduced to take this into account. To the east is a steep escarpment with large cliffs, and to the west the steeply sided mound of Hood Hill. Areas marked as slow undergrowth are VERY slow at this time of year. Rides, clearings and small paths may be overgrown. The rough open may be very rough, courses have been planned to avoid these areas where possible

Preprinted & bagged for all Badge and Relay classes.
Master maps for Yellow, Orange and Red. Blank maps will be on display in the start lanes and at Assembly.
NOTES: Recent forestry activities have made some ruined walls even more ruined. Thinning activities are still going on - the effect will be to create obviously new paths and clearings and make areas more runnable.
Significant changes will be displayed at Assembly and in Pre-start.
Only significant rocky areas and boulders have been marked. There are taped routes on some junior courses that should be ignored by other competitors. There are crossovers on many courses - please make sure that you visit the controls in the correct order.
Control
Descriptions:
Because we are using the same area for all days, Control descriptions will not be available in advance.
The descriptions will be available in the start lanes at -3 for days 1 and 2. In addition, control descriptions will be fixed to the back of the badge event maps and the front of the relay maps.

There will be no backup punches. If a unit fails, please report the control number to the Finish.
Drinks points will be marked on the maps

to Starts:
All days: The routes to the starts will leave the entrance to assembly and head north past the camping field. The SI Clear station will be at the exit from this camping field.
