The above event which was to be held on 12th Oct has had to be cancelled. The reason for this is that we have been unable to find an ‘organiser’ for the event despite the efforts of Jim Harrison as fixture secretary.
This is a big disappointment for the Club especially when we have well over 150 members. The Committee has apologised to the ‘planner’ (Dean Field) who has already done a lot of work in the forest.
There is a chance that the same outcome will happen to other events if members don’t come forward to volunteer to organise. If you have never organised before please think about it carefully. We have a good system for supporting first time organisers which include a detailed written guide, assistance and guidance from more experienced organisers and even support in transferring equipment to the event if it is needed.
