It is not necessary to become a club member to try orienteering; however, ‘Local’ membership of British Orienteering is FREE OF CHARGE for new members and entitles you to a discount on entry fees to most events in this region.
As you get more experienced and want to participate in events further afield, you will probably want to upgrade to ‘National’ membership.
To join British Orienteering and Eborienteers takes just a few minutes and costs nothing in the first year for local membership.
Go to www.britishorienteering.org.uk
1. Click on the red square box on the left hand side with “Join now” on it. 2. Select Club – EBOR 3. Select Association – YHOA – there is only one to choose from! 4. Under British Orienteering Level select Local 5. Select Membership Grade – select Junior if born in 1992 or later, Senior if born before 1992 6. Are you new to British Orienteering – Tick the box 7. Click on SUBMIT 8. On next page, click CONFIRM to accept the fees – should be zero 9. On next page, fill in personal details and….You will now be a member of BRITISH ORIENTEERING AND EBORIENTEERS – WELCOME!
