During the summer a series of Wednesday evening training events will be organised in local parks and woodlands in the York and Selby area to enable young people to get a taste of Orienteering.

Starts from 4:30 - 6:00 pm. 20 controls for 40 minute score event. Coaching/shadowing available for novices. Best 4 scores from 6 events to count. Winner of each year group scores 30 points/ 30th place scores 1 point. Certificates to individual year-group winners. Trophies to Primary and Secondary school team champions. Both school/youth groups and individuals are welcome. Cost: only 50p
Pupils should wear tracksuits and (studded) trainers/boots. They will need to carry safety pins for their control cards, whistles for safety, and red pens (if they haven't pre-entered) to copy the controls onto their maps. Pre-entry: telephone Steve Willis, 01423-323435.
