YDSAA SUMMER 2003 ORIENTEERING EVENTS |
Supported by Eborienteers |
During the summer a series of Wednesday evening training events will be organised in local parks and woodlands in the York and Selby area to enable young people to get a taste of Orienteering, and an opportunity for experienced orienteers to do some summer training.
The events take the form of a 'Score Event' where the children are given a map and have 40 minutes to find as many controls as they can in that time. There are different point values for different controls, depending on how hard they are to find. There is a penalty for being late back!
Events run between 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm with 'start' times between 4.00 pm and 5.15 pm.
Starts from 4:15 - 7:00 pm, courses close at 8:00pm. Score event or
technique exercises.
Cost: Adults: £1 Juniors/Novices 50p
