Everyone. Particularly, those who plan events or who think they may do so in the future. However, mapping sharpens up your map reading skills and so it will improve your orienteering, if nothing else.
The basics of surveying, giving you the ability to record straightforward map corrections for existing maps and the skills to produce simple maps from scratch.
At a later date, there will be a follow up course, in which you will be able to learn the basics of map drawing.
