I started off by volunteering to produce the flyers for the Birch Hagg Northern Nights and the Colour Coded event, and ended up marshalling the equipment for both days and organising the night event! However, thanks to my small but enthusiastic band of helpers everything fell into place very easily, we all had an enjoyable evening, and the rain held off until the event ended. Thanks also go to Dave Sowden, Keith MacDermott and Dennis Hooton for their hard work leading up to the event.
I hope you didn't mind us putting the first start time back to 6pm. I calculated the 5:30 start time based on previous night events, but forgot how much lighter it is on open moorland!

Thank you to all competitors for taking part. Judging from your comments, you felt suitably challenged by and appreciative of Steve's courses. I thought that they made good use of the changes between moor and wood and asked you to keep orienteering ! Night O demands quite a bit more compass and pacing than day - O, without the distractions of other lights / people and changing terrain.
Thank you also to Kevin's Ebor helper team who ran the event. I'm sure you would have comfortably organised four or five times as many and it made for a smoothly run evening.
