City of York Race
UK Urban League Event
The usual fast and furious event around
the alleys and snickelways of York.
This year will be mainly in the heart of York City centre.
Parking
There will be no official car park for the event. If coming by car we suggest the numerous
Park and Ride sites are the best option. The nearest Park & Ride to SPARK is the Grimston Bar
service, stopping directly outside the Coppergate Centre on Piccadilly. There are also Park &
Ride sites at Askham Bar, the York Designer Outlet, Monks Cross, Poppleton Bar, and
Rawcliffe Bar. All use an entire fleet of electric buses, and bus fares include parking. You can
also park on the outskirts of York and cycle. There are numerous bike racks in the city centre.
There are plenty of public car parks around
Information on Park and Rides can be seen HERE.

Insurance:
British Orienteering members are covered by British Orienteering's public
liability insurance while participating in this event. Non-members are not
covered.
Note: Public liability insurance covers you against liability for causing harm to someone else. For example, it would cover you if you were sued for accidentally injuring a member of the public or causing damage to property during the event. It's fair to say that most people go through life without worrying about public liability insurance.
